If you follow along with my little company at all, you know my number one job is Mama. I started my business almost four years ago. My daughter was just three months old. There were long days nursing, and rocking, holding, and crying, and figuring it out together. When I first had the vision to create this business, flowers weren't really in the fore front. I just new I loved creating beautiful spaces for people to share some of their most joyous occasions. Flowers found me. After a career as a alternative process photographer and ceramic artist, my sense of composition, and movement, femininity, balance, and grand vision translated into the magical world of florals and design.
My company has come along way since that first spark and I have to stop and pinch myself daily. We've added one more baby to our little tribe, Banks. He is the perfect addition and the little boy God knew I needed.
Little Blue Knot literally grew from being an idea on a piece of paper. It was lots of rambling thoughts tied to a greater passion. It grew from a room, rocking my infant daughter and then moved into a small office/studio/dinning room in our home.
In September of 2017, my business and my family made the decision to dream even further. We launched our Design Studio & Botanical Boutique out of a historic downtown building in my hometown. This was a huge blessing and an answered prayer to desperately needing more space and a strong desire to connect with the local community. Since then, my family and I have sold our first home and had a long detour in between finding our next. Happily, we found a place to write the next chapter in of our lives. In a little brick house, in a great neighborhood, with a garden, a pond, and even a studio space for myself.
It is a home were I could feel the pitter patter of little feet before they had even touched the floor. A place where I could finally have the studio space I needed to better serve my business and keep my babies close by. My dream.
With our new little shop came so much growth, so much service, some hard lessons, plenty of highs, and a fair share of lows. I hosted my first workshop, which brought so much joy to my heart. And, so an entire community become so excited about flowers and the goodies in our little shop.
With all the wonderful things our little shop on Wayne St. has provided, there are a couple things it made even more clear. Time with my babies is precious. Being a Mother can feel so fleeting and I found it so difficult to manage being away from them more than I had to. With an already busy and growing wedding business, the shop became even more time and brain power away from focusing on my babies.
For those very reasons,
It is with a heavy but full heart my family and my business will be closing our little shop on Wayne. It is a decision that has come with much prayer and their is so much peace.
So many good things are on the horizon.
Little Blue Knot will be moving to an e-commerce platform and has some exciting new services set to launch mid to late Summer!
Thank you for all of your on going support and encouragement in my little company. We are thankful for you all.
